GIBRALTAR
The perfect starting point. Gibraltar Rock is like a proud 'crouching lion' that once guarded the sea route from the Strait through to the Suez Canal. This friendly British oasis basks in the mediterranean sun, with its' airport next to the marina and English is the spoken language. If you have time, take a rock tour and visit the Barbary apes, originally from North Africa that still live in there semi-wild state. Or view inside the historic rock and visti the amazing tunnels and St Michaels cave that stands 900 feet above sea level..

Tarifa and the Strait of Gibraltar

Tarifa - sailing destination Surfing

TARIFA
West on the more natural Costa de la Luz is the ancient Moorish town of Tarifa. The old town is protected by fortified walls with delightful cobbled streets where you can relax and enjoy the bohemian bars and shops. It is the most Southern point of Europe with breathtaking golden sandy beaches with backdrops of Morocco and the beautiful Andalusian hills of the Alcornocales National Park. This rugged and beautiful outdoors sports haven is famous for its Atlantic wind, which attracts the worlds best windsurfers and kitesurfers.

MOROCCO
Venturing to Africa is like stepping back to a time, camels are still a common form of transport. Marina Smir is peaceful and has a fabulous unspoilt picturesque beach. From here you can get a taxi/guide to the Ancient Capital Tetuan, or the blue berber village if Chefchouen. Visit the Casbah and local Medina shops, bartering for carpets whilst drinking sweet mint tea. Here the wealth of extravagant detail on the houses and their intricate wrought-iron balconies are akin to the old Arab quarters of Seville and Cordoba. In contrast Ceuta is a lively Spanish enclave with a Moroccan vibe. Bars and restaurants for those who want to relax and take in the atmosphere.

COSTA DEL SOL
Costa del Sol is the 'sunshine coast' of Spain with its almost constant sunshine, cooling sea breezes and low humidity. It has many elegant marinas with a cosmopolitan atsmophere, superb resturants and glamorous nightclubs. You can party in to the early hours or chat at cafe bars and absorb the Spanish lifestyle. Visit the tapas bars, enjoying several small dishes with a glass of wine or Spanish sherry.

In Sotogrande you can watch professional riders play an exciting game of "high goal" horse Polo. Sotogrande also boasts the best golf courses in the world. In contrast, a short drive inland are the White Andalucian villages that cling to the rocky cliffs. All with their own rich history.

Onboard is our own guide book suggesting local places to eat and visit.
