Trafalgar Sailing School, RYA courses and charters, Spain, Gibraltar and Morocco

This 14 week programme of courses is designed to take you from a novice sailor right through to a confident and capable Yachtmaster. Gibraltar is an excellent base for Yachtmaster training thanks to good winds, tidal waters, busy shipping lanes in the Straits and a wide variety of interesting sailing passages to exotic destinations To give you a broader range of experience your Yachtmaster fast track course could include a passage South to Tenerife and the Canary Islands and Cape Verde islands, West to the Algarve, Portugal or North East into the Mediterranean to Majorca and the Costa Brava.

"Warm winter" fast track to Yachtmaster programme starts 15th Sep and ends 20th Dec 08.
“Sunny Spring” fast track to Yachtmaster programme starts 5th Jan and ends 11th Apr 09.

Week 1 Competent Crew Practical.
Week 2 Day Skipper Theory.
Week 3 Day Skipper practical.
Week 4 Local sailing - Practical sailing skills and boat handling.
Week 5 Yachtmaster/Coastal Theory training.
Week 6 Gibraltar - Canary Islands.
Week 7 Canary Islands.
Week 8 Canary Islands - Gibraltar.
Week 9-10 Coastal Skipper Practical - Gibraltar to Morocco and Spain.
Week 11 Gibraltar - Portugal – Cadiz – Gibraltar.
Week 12 V.H.F. Radio, First aid, Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster theory exam.
Week 13-14 - Yachtmaster prep & exam.

Price: £6300 per person for 14 weeks. £1000 deposit at the time of reservation and balance due 6 weeks before the course starts.

This price includes: RYA tuition, accommodation throughout, bedding provided, food and drinks onboard (4 evening meals onboard per week), mooring fees and waterproofs.
This price does not include: 3 Evening meals ashore during inshore sailing, flights, VHF Radio course £120, First aid £85 and exam fee £155.

No previous experience necessary. RYA Qualifications gained:
Competent Crew, Day Skipper Theory, Day Skipper Practical, Yachtmaster Theory, Coastal Skipper Practical, First Aid, Personal Safety and Sea Survival, GMDSS Radio. Yachtmaster prep. for exam.
